How SEO and SEM Work Together?

SEO and SEM are two different strategies to bring relevant and qualified traffic to your website. However, they are tied pretty close together and work hand-in-hand. While SEO focuses on building website traffic organically, SEM focuses on delivering traffic through paid advertisements. Both strategies heavily rely on keywords to drive traffic to business websites. Though the marketing techniques used for each are different, they focus on traffic flows and how they relate to marketing activities.

SEO is the foundation for good SEM. When you have each set up correctly, you have a better chance of getting high-quality traffic and improving conversion rates. Once you have a well-optimized site and sponsored ads appropriately targeted using the right keywords, you have more chance of showing up at the top of both paid and organic searches.

On the other hand, if you have a new website, you can prioritize your SEM campaign first as it can take a while for SEO rankings to become established, but don't ignore your SEO during this process.

Using SEO and SEM together is one of the best methods to bring consistent and high-quality traffic to your website. Although these two strategies are powerful, online marketing experts have seen a stronger marketing strategy when used together.

Know the Difference Between Local & General SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO), is one of the powerful strategies for reaching out to potential customers. A cost-effective method, it has proved its worth over time.

There are two types of SEO, the local search engine optimization and general SEO. Unfortunately, there are lots of people who do not pay much attention to local SEO and concentrate on general SEO without realizing how important the former is. So, let us get to know about the difference between the two.

General SEO techniques are focused on helping websites show up in keyword searches being used worldwide. Most of the time, these techniques are designed to ensure that the website property has greater visibility in order to drive more traffic to the website. However, local SEO has a slightly different focus. While local SEO efforts still work to boost the online presence of a business and drive website traffic as well, the idea is not focused on driving customers to a website. The idea is to drive more customers to your front door. It is because of this difference, the techniques used in general SEO efforts are significantly different than those used for local SEO efforts.

In line with this, digital marketing companies in Dubai say that general SEO effort uses a number of techniques that help search engines index your website in such a way that the site appears on search engine results pages for certain keywords. Local SEO efforts, however, focus more on promoting the whole business online. While there are techniques that are implemented on the website itself, there are many other techniques used to boost your business including establishing business profiles in various directories, online map applications, and more.

Steps to creating an SEO-Friendly FAQ page

A website’s FAQ page has two major functions: it is a sales tool and it provides valuable content for SEO. If your frequently asked question page is doing just one or none of these, it is now time work on this oft-neglected part of your site. Below are some tips on how to create an SEO-friendly FAQ.

Check analytics regularly
After creating your FAQ page, make sure to regularly check your website’s analytics to see if the page gets traffic and ranks for keyword phrases relevant to your business.
Based on the data you’ll see in Analytics, start asking questions such as: Were users browsing or are they scrolling through your FAQ page? How long are they going to stay? Upon looking at the FAQ page, where do they go? What are the directions they take? By finding out these useful and actionable insights, you can make some changes to improve your FAQ page.

Identify and Incorporate Best Performing Keywords
As part of creating an SEO-friendly FAQ page, you will need to identify what keywords your website is currently ranking for. That way, you are able to optimize your FAQ page by including these keywords.  When incorporating these keywords, think of all opportunities in which you can naturally add them to the content of the page. SEO agencies in Dubai say that it is a good SEO practice to add them to the page’s URL and content headers as well as the main body text.

Implement Structured Data
Adding structured data to your FAQ page is a great chance to make your SERP more visually appealing, get a higher click-through rate and bring you step ahead of your competitors.  By implementing this structured data, you can make your content eligible to show questions and answers directly on Google Search. Remember that FAQ can be used to provide official questions and answers for single pages.

SEO Basics: On-page

Every SEO strategy is focused on ranking as high as possible in search engines results pages. In order to do this, it is important to design and develop a website that Google’s algorithm will love. That’s basically what SEO is about. Aside from local search engine optimization, on-page SEO is one of the most important elements of any SEO strategy. Below are some highly helpful tips on SEO best practices for on-page optimization.

Construct a Keyword-Rich Title
Every page on your website should have its own unique title. Don’t get your page title confused with your blog post headline; those are two different things. Your headline is what appears at the top of your post, whereas your title is an attribute that affects your search engine ranking. Therefore, it is important to include some target keywords on each page title.

Write an Enticing Description
Your page’s description is the other half of your SERPs meta tag. This is a snippet of text that appears below the title tag in the SERP. The description tag is a great place to include your keywords and increase your click-through rates.

Header Tags
One of the most important on-page SEO services is the inclusion of header tags. Header tags are not just for making different font sizes. They are being implemented to differentiate the various sections of a web page, and they help search engines analyze what your page is about. These tags are not visible in the user’s end, but they are being shown behind-the-scenes for search engines. A big on-page SEO best practice is to include a page’s relevant keyword in the H1 tag.

Google: 2020 January Core Update

When talking about core updates, Google has a long history of them. In 2019, Google has transitioned from individual names to a simple “Core Update” naming system. While Google implements hundreds of small algorithm changes every year, the core updates are the ones that affect the organic rankings of many websites in different industries.

It did not take long for Google to release its first confirmed 2020 Google update. As announced on January 13th, Google has rolled out what it has called the January 2020 Core Update. The significance of this algorithm update increases as Google has confirmed that the new update is a broad core algorithm change. The search engine giant has been testing new designs for the Search/SERPs and is finally taking it live to all users worldwide.

As the days go by, the update's impact was decreased with lower and lower volatility being reflected by the index on desktop. However, mobile showed a slightly different pattern with the third day of the update's roll-out showing an increase in rank volatility.

What exact changes do site owners need to make?

The latest Google update is less of a technical algorithm change. Unfortunately, Google is not giving a lot of details on the exact changes, but like all rollouts of broad core updates, the E-A-T (Expertise, Authority, Trustworthiness) method is the clearest direction on how to recover from any lost traffic.

What are backlinks and how do they work?

Aside from local search engine optimization, backlinks also play a big role in the digital marketing industry. A backlink is when a particular website mentions another website by linking to it. The link has to be clickable in order for search engines to recognize them as backlinks.

Furthermore, the total number of backlinks you have on your website indicates both the popularity and importance of your site for the search engines. Backlinks from reputable sources indicate that your webpage contains valuable information. For instance, Google will consider a webpage with a higher number of high-quality backlinks more trustworthy than another webpage with less and lower quality backlinks. According to digital marketing agencies in Dubai, this means that your site can rank higher than the others.

Why backlinks are important?

Backlinks promote your brand. Having a high number of quality backlinks means getting additional exposure to your online presence. Since your website is linking to different webpages relevant to your business niche, backlinks help in creating awareness of your brand. This will eventually result in a passive boost to your web traffic.

Backlinks boost your authority. High-quality backlinks send a signal to search engines, especially Google, that your website is an authority within its niche. The more you gain authority to your website for a particular industry, the higher the chance that your website will rank on the top of the search engine results page. So, when doing online marketing in Dubai, building your website authority is a must.

Reasons why search engine rankings change frequently

If you own a website and you are regularly monitoring your ranking, you may have noticed that the rankings change frequently.  What causes search results to change frequently? The change in the rankings is something that has confused many individuals for a while now. Following some of the reasons why your website ranking changes frequently.
Geographic Location
Most search engines, especially Google rely heavily on location services. This means that the location settings on the device you are using will generally reflect the search results. This can be a good thing for local businesses who are only seeking customers in close proximity and who are engaged with local search engine optimization. However, this can hinder global businesses seeking to achieve broader visibility.
Previously Clicked Google Links
If you have searched Google using the same search terms, and repeatedly clicked on a particular link from the results page, Google’s results will start to change. Sites that you visited from the links in the results will start to show up more and more frequently moving higher on the page.  This may create a false impression that a website is ranked higher than it actually is.
Competition from Other Websites
It is possible that you are doing everything right but still see a drop ranking. One reason for this might be that your competition is doing a better job than you.
It is important to always keep an eye on your competitors by analyzing and monitoring their online activities and strategies. Once you understand what your competition has done to outrank you, make the same changes and make sure to do it better.

Why is brand ranking so important for your online business?

A brand name allows customers to trust the quality of each service or product that a business offers in the market. Every single mention of a brand name recalls a customer’s perceptions and experiences, regardless if it is positive or negative.
Furthermore, brand ranking is way more than the marketing of designer clothing or anything else. It represents an identity in the market — what the business does, who they are, what standard of quality they provide, trustworthiness, reputation, etc. Hence, internet marketing companies in Dubai say that brand ranking is vital to almost all businesses in any industry.

Why is Brand Ranking so important in Online Search?

  • It improves your business’ lead generation because it is easier to sell products/services when people trust your brand.
  • Higher conversion rates from acquiring links naturally or through sending out requests to external sites.
  • Search engines, especially Google, are more likely to favor brands when ranking pages on search results, simply because people trust them. This means that your site’s chances of getting higher search rankings for difficult keywords increases, which leads to more relevant and targeted traffic.

Building a Better Brand Recognition

Now that you are fully aware of brand ranking, what can you do to become better known in the market? Aside from local search engine marketing optimizations, here are some other tips for increasing brand awareness online.
Securing Your Brand Name – This simply means making sure that your brand name is yours alone and no other business is using it. It is extra difficult to rank in your brand name if there are two or more brand names out there.
Populate Your Account – It makes no sense to have a Facebook page if you do not have any followers. So, the next step is to fill your page with people who are likely to make use of your services in the future. You can start with the people you already have or past clients you’ve managed to track down.
Get Some Help – Getting help from professionals is one of the best options you have, as they know what to do and are able to guide you in every step of the way. Most of the time, SEO services in the UAE also offers brand marketing services which will help your brand to rank higher in major search engines like Google.

The importance of Google Maps and why you should list your business?

Wherever your business is located, it is for sure that there will be people using smartphones to make purchases and select venues for their afternoon coffee or evening entertainment. Whenever they do this, Google Maps is the app most people use, and if your business is not listed, you will lose the chance of getting these customers.
Most of the time, customers prefer businesses with accurate information and a lot of reviews. If a business owner fails to optimize its business listing, the location information could be misleading, and there may be very little feedback which will affect the business ranking in local search engine optimization.
In addition to that, Google Maps offers additional advantages. Businesses listed on Maps tend to get SEO benefits. It helps to establish your local identity, and it also offers an easy way to provide information and direction for people when they need to find your business.

How to add your business to Google Maps?

All business listings on Maps are hosted by Google My Business service. Before starting, keep in mind that verification will be needed. This may take four days or a couple of months as most verifications take place by mail. So, don’t expect to be able to instantly create a business listing.
